SpiraFlo - the next generation in moisture absorber devices.

THE DESIGN CHALLENGE

Kilrock identified a need to develop a new moisture trap absorber which housed their innovative new dual-fibre crystal pouches. The design needed to be attractive and cost effective to ensure the product remained competitive and prevented any drips or spills. The design brief was to offer a solution that was portable, easy to refill and appealing to homeowners.

THE DESIGN SOLUTION

We produced a range of conceptual designs in the form of sketches and 3D renders. Kilrock selected one design to progress onto the next stage of the development process. To help them visualise their new moisture trap device, we produced a SLS prototype. As a result, we made improvements to the design, the number of venting holes and the physical size of the unit was increased. A further prototype was produced for testing and approved by the client. The engineered CAD drawings were completed for tooling in the Far East. 3di Consulting project managed Kilrock throughout the whole tooling process until the first shots were approved and production finalised.
