We offer other services within the detail design stage. These are FEA (Finite Element Analysis) and Mould flow.
Using the latest industry CAD software packages, we are able to review the CAD 3D data under certain loads with a wide range of materials. This process is used to evaluate different part sections or materials and determine how each would react under the same load conditions.
Note that this should not be regarded as a 100% test for suitability under extreme conditions, but used as a comparative tool.
The mould flow software is extremely important to design the plastic moulded component as effectively as possible. The software shows all aspects of the moulding process and is invaluable when in discussions with the injection moulding company.
Tolerance of component fit is key when designing and all fits are designed as “metal safe” so that the fits can be tuned perfectly in the least expensive way possible by taking metal off the tool to add plastic onto the part.
With increased use of twin shot plastic moulded parts, combinations of plastics and soft feel polymers are used together to enhance the feel and quality of the product, and maximise user experience.
