CLIENT: PermaShutter DATE: Sept 2007
Overview
In 2007, 3di were approached by Steve Willis, Managing Director of PermaShutter to design and develop his innovative and revolutionary polymer headwall system concept
It was felt there was a real need to update the traditional cast in-situ headwall design, which took twenty-one days to install, required skilled tradesmen and heavy lifting equipment and was expensive.
The new system provides companies with a more durable product, which is easy to position and fill whilst offering cost savings of up to 30% when compared with a traditional cast in-situ headwall. The PermaShutter polymer headwall is designed to be placed on the edge of drainage water outlets such as pools or ponds. It is made from toughened HDPE plastic, resulting in a moulding with a strong polyethylene skin. This makes it highly durable and it can be installed in a matter of hours compared to days with the added benefit of handrails and pipe guards. The PermaShutter polymer headwall is graffiti resistant and can be colour coded to blend into its’ surroundings which means it has a minimal adverse impact on the environment.
